Hope I didn't offend you w/ the "hack" comment. I'm from the old school where "hack" means "interesting workaround" and forgot to mention that :-)

It does sound like interesting workaround. You're transferring user/group info via cookies from Domino to some other web server. Hope you're validating or encrypting cookies or someone who knows your format can hack into apps done w/ Simple Sign On.

Full JBoss integration is a lot more complicated, but it gives you a standard level of URL and EJB security that's part of J2EE. The way I implemented it, you also don't need to change your application code...only a few JBoss XML files.
